Girlfriends in Training Programs are based in the philosophy that:

      • Training should FIT INTO your life, not BE your life.
      • Every program that is entered into with a whole heart and a great attitude will bring you to the finish line.
      • Every participant should enjoy the experience for what it is beyond just the physical performance.

The G.I.T. program is designed for women who are looking to explore new fitness activities with or without the goal of competing.  From walking programs to improve overall fitness, to multi-sport training like triathlons to the completion of a marathon, our coaches have you covered.  Our marquee event is the More® Marathon and ½ Marathon held in New York City every spring. Our program includes, coaching services, bib number pick-up, transportation to and from the race and a post race celebration.

Training Program options allow you to choose how you would like to work with your coach:

16 week one time program with guidelines

  • Best for someone with previous training experience
  • Modifications made independently

 

       

More® Magazine Half-Marathon

Held in Central Park, NYC every year, the event is for women over 40 only – you can run or walk as a member of a 2-person team (13.1 miles per runner, one runner must be 40 years old, the other can be of any age) Sorry, no men in this one…

This year's event will be held on Sunday April 6, 2008. Girlfriends In Training will be organizing a training team, arranging transportation to and from the race, assisting with your registration and providing training schedules to get you to the finish line regardless of the distance you choose to do or how you choose to do it.

Week by week program

  • Best for someone who wants/needs to work with their coach more frequently for expert week to week guidance
  • E-coaching model
  • Training schedule based upon feedback from client from the previous week
  • Higher volume contact with your coach via e-mail

Participation in Workout Groups

  • Offered in small group formats
  • On hands, on site contact with your coach
  • Indoor and Outdoor venues
  • Guided workouts in Pilates, Yoga, running, cycling, swimming and group fitness
